IMAGE SIZES
note: Never stretch an image to make it the size listed above. Instead, make the project canvas that size, then fill it in & design what you want.
note: the ones with * are required, I make the others, but you can make them if you want too. note: first banner on a band page has the band name, next ones are band photos, |
PROMOTIONAL TIPS
Album Covers: Aside for making an overall nice design, think about what the album cover will look like on the RELEASE page, BAND page and BLOG. Try to make it stand out and clear enough. Something really white, really dark or really random/spazzy with unreadable text might not be best. Sometimes text looks great on the big image size but on other pages when smaller it's not clear. If making art is not your thing, you can ask someone for help or us too!
Effort: Keep in mind POM2 has been out for a while now. So try to bring something different, something refreshing or really well done. If you're on the label, you're probably already really good because of the high requirements, hehe, but always strive to make your songs & album as tight as possible.
Stay Active: Once your album is out try to keep the momentum going. That doesn't necessarily mean churn out more music though. You can keep the interest going by setting up an interview, putting up new artwork/drawings, doing videos, comment other albums & bands and support fellow folks on here; they might do the same for you too! You can even collaborate with other bands/artists to bring in their fans! Have fun with it! No worries if you can't do stuff all the time.
|
Incentives: Try to give extra incentives for someone to download your album. Include an album summary that tells folks about how much thought went into your creative process or maybe a story around it, etc. You can also include the song data, album notes, nice PDFs like bands like Spanky Revolution do, special codes to unlock bonus materials, special art, a music video; anything really. Be creative & have fun with it. You don't need go all out, no worries! But try to think about what you can do to get people interested in grabbing that album you spent time on.
Support: Make sure you comment other peoples albums & bands and so forth! It's awesome when everyone is friendly and genuinely cares about what you work on. It's so much better knowing someone really listened to what you made and you can return the favor. If nobody communicates than even a nice designed website can be lifeless and be a waste! Know what I mean?
Expand: You can also promote yourself on social media sites like Youtube, Facebook & Twitter or even your own personal website/blog.

ALBUM PRODUCTION
MP3 Converter: Once you complete your songs, you use the MP3 Converter to turn your POM data into an mp3 file. When you download the converter, make sure you extract the entire contents into a folder, not just the .exe file. Once done, open the converter.exe and paste your POM data into it. Your MP3's will show up in the Converted folder. Click here to download.
Placement: Once your songs are MP3's, make a folder and rename it what you want (your band name & album title), then copy/paste the MP3's in there. This makes it easier to compress & zip up to upload to a downloading site. It's really annoying to have to download individual songs or upload them one by one. It's much quicker and easier to just put them in a folder and upload it.
