Beginnings (YourHeroTheEpic era)
One day brothers Zack and Liam decided to make a band and name it YourHeroTheEpic Liam had a friend in his math class that he knew played guitar and played it well. His name was Dylan. Unfortunately, a bass player was nowhere to be found. It was decided that they would start playing covers without a bass player.
Completing the Band
After 2 weeks of playing without a bass player, things were getting desperate because they looked to make songs with big bass parts. Finally, they found an ad on the internet for a bass player in New York City looking for a band. His name was Ryan. Zach called him up and he was happy to join, despite the one hour ride to practice. Finally, the band was complete and it was time for Zach, Liam, Dylan and Ryan to start writing originals.
Writing Songs
Ryan and Liam had some experience writing songs already, so it wasn't too hard for them to write their first song, Raining Fire, which was made in mid-March. The guys thought this was great, so they wrote more stuff like it. The next songs that came were At the Gates of Hell, When the World Still Existed and Eat Away. At the end of April, Dylan came up with the idea to record a cover song. So after a few days of dispute, they settled on The Show Must Go On, by Queen.
The Album
YourHeroTheEpic had almost enough decent material for an album, but they still needed some title tracks. Ryan suggested they write songs about a real issue. Zach thought they should write a trilogy, about a squad in war and everyone thought it was good. So, after one week, 2 pencil sharpeners, and an infinite number of chips, Ryan and Liam wrote the Devastation trilogy. They now had enough to make an album and they named it Devastation, after the trilogy that was written. Devastation was released on June 3rd, 2011.
Discovered
The Lounge Records heard YourHeroTheEpic's Devastation album and loved it. The band decided to get signed and they started to play shows. From July to September they toured America's east coast, playing in venues from clubs to stadiums. The last show in their tour was at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Current events and Name change (HANDS UP!)
YourHeroTheEpic have created a second album titled "Roses are Black" and they are currently on a tour to promote the album. They haven't been writing much since, but there may be some coming. The band also changed their name to "Hands Up!"
