BAND FORMATION (late 2008 - early 2010)

It was late 2008 when the three "originals" formed the sideshow, The Night Before, the originals being Derek, Damien and Lee - all studying at the same college and forming after discovering each other musically. It was only a few local shows, the band accompanying other more well known faces such as Scott's Republic and Hands Up!. It was only until a year later, in early 2010 when Rick Mauris joined the trio thereby completing the line-up enabling the band to go onto far bigger events and gaining more freedom writing their songs. There first major event that was of significance in the calendar was the POM Radio "The New Guys" show in which they were introduced to their new-found audience. This was thankfully arranged by their newly recruited band manager, Haza Jones. It was a very lucky catch just as the band were on vacation. With his input, finacially and advisory, they raised to new heights in how they approached the music business. His knowledge was invaluable in how The Night Before rose in the music world.
