Earlier this month we sat down with some of the members of Special Ed to discuss everything post-release of their album Lobotomy. Here's what the band had to say.

Picture

Randy (POM Records): What's up Special Ed! The band has been pulling some big brain moves by releasing Lobotomy, an 11-track LP. Tell us about the album, the production & the songs! Did anyone lose a few brain cells?
Picture
Special Ed: Sup! Yeahhh the LP was honestly mad! A lot of the time it was just throwing whatever ideas we had together to see what worked and what didn't, and unlike most group projects everyone actually had input, sadly I think Dylan our drummer has lost his mind or been possessed by the drumming gods because he did not stop drumming for a few days! Swear he's got infinite stamina.

Randy:
The band has a lot of fun & good energy. How's everyone doing now that you guys are getting more known in the scene? You guys seems to be enjoying the whole process & experience.
Picture
Special Ed: Thanks mate! We're enjoying the music-making process and just getting to know everyone, especially loving a lot of the metal that's been coming out recently, just technically brilliant stuff!
Picture

Randy:
You guys just his Bronze certification on the album. What's next for the band? Any tours?
Picture
Special Ed: Ayyy that's amazing we definitely weren't expecting to start off so strong! We're not really that good at plans to be honest with you but touring is so fun from our experiences so I think a tour will definitely be on the cards.
Picture

Randy:
UK is definitely the place for punk. What inspired the band growing up?
Picture
Special Ed: Yeah the UK is such a great place for punk music, When we were growing up it was quite a mix of things, obviously you had the punk bands of the older days just causing chaos wherever they went and the Welsh pop punk scene is surprisingly large especially with bands like Neck Deep who have had huge success abroad. If you ask Gareth though he grew trying to copy Ed Sheeran and the like so he's a bit more pop-oriented than the rest of us.
Picture

Randy:
What message do you guys have for your fans?
Picture
Special Ed: Honestly just thank you to everyone for the support, even the people who don't like us because you still gave us a chance! Also a huge thank you to POM Records just for being patient while we learn the ropes, expect more treats from us very soon!

Thank you to Special Ed for the interview! Be sure to download their album Lobotomy!
